In-Person Accommodations

The Teach Global Health 2025 Summer Institute is hosted by Allegheny College in beautiful northwest Pennsylvania.

Lodging & Meals

Lodging and meals are covered in the cost of registration. Participants will be lodged in single rooms in 2-4 person apartment-style suites built in 2010 to LEED Gold Certification on the beautiful Allegheny College Campus. Rooms are complete with linens*. Participants or teams requesting shared apartments will be honored as possible. Accessible apartments are available.

Arrangements can be made for family members accompanying participant, pending prior approval.

​

For those traveling overseas or coordinating regional visits, on-campus housing is available from Monday June 16 through Saturday June 21, 2025.

​

All participants will have guest access to the Wise Center Recreational Complex, including indoor track, weight room, aerobic equipment, indoor pool, racquetball courts, basketball courts, and yoga/dance rooms, as well as the Robertson Field complex for outdoor trails and tracks. Participants will have guest access to campus wifi and library facilities.

* While rooms come with basic linens, they are not hotel rooms. We can supply additional blankets, pillows, towels, and hand soaps as needed, but you should consider bringing other necessary toiletries, hairdryers, etc., if needed.

​​

All meals are included in the cost of registration.  Participant food concerns (halal, kosher, dietary restrictions, food allergies) will be accommodated.  Information about participant lodging and food accommodations will be gathered in late Spring 2025.

Driving to Campus

For those coordinating regional visits, on campus-housing is available from Monday June 16, 2025 through Friday June 21, 2025. Participants are responsible for their own transportation costs.

Driving Directions (I-80):

  • Travel on I-79 to Exit 147A. Continue on Route 322 East, and take the Park Avenue Exit on the right (after exit, stay left).

  • Follow Park Avenue for six traffic lights to Chestnut Street and turn right. 

  • At the next stop sign, continue to the left and travel around Diamond Park. At the other side of the park, veer right onto North Main Street.

  • After two lights on North Main Street, veer to the right and continue up the hill.

  • Pass the Patricia Bush Tippie Alumni Center (still labeled Cochran Hall on Google Maps) on your right, yielding to pedestrians at the crosswalks, and at the final (11th) Allegheny banner, make an immediate left onto E. John St. after the 454 House, home of the Office of Admissions, to locate visitor parking

Flying to Campus

For those coordinating regional visits or flying internationally, on-campus housing is available from Monday June 16, 2025 through Friday June 21, 2025. Participants are responsible for their own transportation costs. 

​

We will provide a fee-based shuttle to and from the Pittsburgh International Airport ($25 per person one way). Details will be available Spring 2024. 

​

Other Airports: If you would like to fly in and out of other airports to accommodate additional regional travel, we have listed regional airports and travel times. If you choose to rent a car for one-way use, there is a local Enterprise Car Rental in Meadville for drop off. Rentals must be reserved several days in advance. No shuttles will be available to these other airports.

     Pittsburgh International Airport - 1.5 hrs

     Erie International Airport - 1 hrs

     Akron-Canton Airport - 2 hrs

     Cleveland Hopkins International Airport - 2 hrs

     Buffalo Niagara International Airport - 2 hrs

     Toronto Pearson International Airport (CAN) - 4 hrs

Accepted participants will complete a travel and lodging form in Spring 2023 to provide information about on campus housing and details for family members accompanying the participant.

​

International participants may request a letter to support their visa application if needed.  

​

All participants should be careful to follow posted COVID protocol and other appropriate travel advisories.
